Frida Kahlo was often photographed wearing large and colorful jewelry and bright colored clothing-both in life and art. The flowers worn in her hair were celebratory of her Mexican heritage and symbolic of fertility. The hand-pierced brass cuff reveals red flowers, resembling the bougainvillea blossoms in her garden at La Casa Azul.
